40-year-old Yonkers man killed in Bedford Park shooting

According to the NYPD, a 40-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest and leg on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the shooting happened just before 1:30 p.m. at 198th Street and Pond Avenue.

According to authorities, the man, who is from Yonkers, has been identified as Kavon Reid. They say he was taken to the SBH Health System, where he later died.

One resident said he heard several gunshots and that his block was usually quiet.
