San Francisco, Calif. – A heat advisory is currently in effect for San Francisco and surrounding areas, including Hollister Valley and Carmel Valley, with temperatures expected to reach up to 30°C today and Friday. Inland areas can experience even higher temperatures of up to 100°F. This extreme heat will continue until 11pm on Friday, raising concerns about heat illnesses, particularly among those engaging in outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service, residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms and limit outdoor time during peak heat periods. Vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly and pets, should not be left unattended in vehicles. Officials are also urging residents to check on their neighbors and take precautions against heat stroke, which can be life-threatening.

The warning extends to major highways, including US-101 and I-280, where prolonged exposure to sunlight may increase risks. Temperatures are expected to remain high over the weekend, with forecasts predicting a high of 30C on Saturday and 30C on Sunday. Looking ahead to next week, temperatures will cool slightly, reaching highs of around 23°C by Tuesday.
