After the iPad and the HomePod, Apple Watches are having problems with the beta update

Apple has found itself in trouble once again as it pushes out another software update, this time the watchOS 11.1 developer beta. The update, released on October 1, 2024, has caused issues for Apple Watch beta users, including device freezing and other functionality issues.

This is the third recent incident of Apple withdrawing updates due to serious issues. Previously, iPadOS 18 was withdrawn after blocking some M4 iPad Pro models, followed by HomePod 18.1 Beta 2, which caused similar issues for HomePod mini devices.

Users reported several issues with the watchOS 11.1 beta, the most serious being a complete device crash that required constant reboots. The issue appears to be related to the Messages app, as one user noticed that the freeze occurred immediately after receiving a text message.

Other reported issues include wallet card disappearances and issues with message notifications. Some users found a temporary workaround by turning off message notifications on their Apple Watches.

Apple recommends users only install beta versions on secondary devices due to possible bugs and instability, Apple Insider reports.

As Apple works to resolve these issues, users are advised to exercise caution when considering beta software installations.
