The defense attorney for a man charged with gun possession asked that a hearing be postponed to consider prosecutors' offer to resolve a non-fatal shooting.

Daquan Rashard Williams, 23, is charged with felony possession of a weapon, carrying a handgun, firing and discharging a weapon within Baltimore city limits and illegal possession of ammunition for a March 19 incident.

Prosecutors offered Williams a sentence of 15 years in prison, with all but seven years suspended, with the first five years having no possibility of parole. Williams accepted the offer, but his defense attorney, Avrohom Greenfield, asked Judge Melissa K. Copeland of Baltimore City Circuit Court for a delay.

Judge Copeland agreed to postpone the hearing and schedule it for January 21, 2025.
