Two men are injured in an overnight shooting in southwest Atlanta

Two men were injured in a shooting late Wednesday night in southwest Atlanta, police said.

Officers responded to a call regarding a shooting at 901 Parsons Street SW, just off Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, shortly after 10 p.m.

According to Atlanta police, officers found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach and a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the arm. Both victims were alert, conscious and breathing. They were taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

According to investigators, the two men had been involved in an argument with another man they knew that escalated into gunfire.

The names of the two men were not released.

The identity of the shooter was not initially known.

The APD’s Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating.
