Cher scores her first Top 10 hit on a Billboard chart in decades of her career

Cher may not be releasing music as quickly as she used to, but she still makes a big splash when she drops something. The superstar scores a new hit on a number of charts in America this week with a just-shared career retrospective that helps her score a very special new win on a particular roster.

ForeverCher's latest greatest hits compilation brings the singer back to the vinyl album charts. The billboard Tally ranks the best-selling vinyl tracks in the US, and this week there's also the latest from the Grammy winner.

The latest edition of the vinyl album list says: Forever begins at No. 9. The set marks a new high point for Cher in the rankings – as well as her first appearance in the top 10.

Prior to this week, Cher had only placed one project on the format-specific list, instantly doubling her roster win total. Christmastheir Christmas album, reached number 13 on the vinyl album charts in December 2023.

With this frame, Cher scores the sixth-highest-grossing debut on the vinyl album chart, at a time when wax sales have been particularly busy in the country. She is behind recently shared projects from Katy Perry, Future, Jamie xx, Bright Eyes and Feid.

Behind Cher, seven more titles debut on the vinyl albums chart, bringing the total number of new placements on the list to 13 – meaning half of the spots on the 25-tier list are held by newcomers. Sade, Jeffree Star, Hippo Campus, Lil Peep, Grateful Dead and Seether all unveil their wax winners at #9.

Forever also manages to debut on several other charts in the US this week, but performs best on vinyl albums. The compilation is new at No. 11 on the Top Album Sales chart, almost reaching the Top 10. On the Billboard 200, the project lands much lower, at No. 163.

In his first tracking frame, Cher's Forever According to Luminate, a total of 8,800 equivalent units were moved. The compilation sold 6,400 copies and it is clear that the title's success is largely due to pure purchases.
