Doncaster Rovers 1-0 Barrow – BBC Sport

Harry Clifton's late goal returned Doncaster to winning ways against Barrow.

Rovers had gone three games without a win in League Two but dominated throughout against a Barrow side that lacked the spark that had given them a strong start to the season.

Midway through the first half, Billy Sharp hit the crossbar with his first shot for Doncaster.

Despite controlling the game, Doncaster struggled to create clear-cut chances. Joe Sbarra sent a header wide of the goal from a cross from Sharp in a great position.

Sharp continued to threaten and saw a shot deflected into the side netting before a brave block from Chris Stokes kept him out from 15 yards.

Barrow enjoyed a lot of pressure midway through the half when Chris Popov fired a powerful shot just wide.

But Doncaster finally made a breakthrough in the 81st minute when Clifton met Jamie Sterry's excellent cross with a side-foot volley from eight yards.
