Washington- Vice Presidential Candidates Gov. Tim Walz And Senator JD Vance will face off tonight in their first and only debate on Tuesday in New York Ballots are already being sent out in some states to voters weeks before Election Day.

Hosted by CBS News, the VP debate between Walz, the Democratic nominee, and Vance, the Republican nominee, will be moderated by Norah O'Donnell, anchor and managing editor of “CBS Evening News,” and Margaret Brennan, anchor and chief foreign affairs correspondent for “Face the Nation.”

The debate takes place in CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.

What you should know about the debate

The 90-minute VP debate comes just over a month before Election Day and about three weeks after the presidential candidates, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. faced each other in their first debate. As with the presidential debate, there will be no live audience.

There will be no opening statements from the two vice presidential candidates. Two minutes are available for the closing remarks. according to the debate rules from CBS News.

While Walz and Vance are expected to meet on the debate stage only once, it is unclear whether Harris and Trump will face off again before the election. The vice president and Democratic presidential candidate accepted an invitation by CNN for a second debate on October 23, but Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, said it was too late for another.

Walz and Vance spent the weeks after they were announced as their respective parties' vice presidential candidates campaigning and introducing themselves to voters. Walz is the one Governor of Minnesota who served in the U.S. House of Representatives for more than a decade. Vance represents Ohio in the U.S. Senate, a post he won in the 2022 midterm elections after rocketing to fame in 2016 with his memoir “Hillbilly Elegy.”
