Trick Williams speaks out after winning the WWE NXT Championship

On the CW Network debut of WWE NXT on October 1, Trick Williams defeated Ethan Page with CM Punk as guest referee.

The full match can be seen below in this news story in a show that also revealed new belts for the NXT Championship and its women's counterpart.

Page wasn't particularly happy with how the match went and interacted with Punk after the match and later on Twitter.

The fans in Chicago went home happy, thanks in part to a generous CM Punk and the offer of free pizza.

Pizza also played a role in Trick Williams' backstage celebrations, which were attended by CM Punk.

In the NXT Exclusive featured below this post, Williams reflected on the start of his second reign as champion, saying:

“Chicago is crazy, isn’t it? This is my first time in Chicago and they have shown me love. I will forever appreciate this, Chicago. Thank you all.

“But like I said, like I told you all, I would go back and have my baby. Look at this thing. It's pretty, isn't it? I got the new title, man.

“Welcome to the CW, we’re here.”

Then Punk came with a box of pizza, apologized for the “business interruption” and offered Williams pizza, saying:

“I know this is your first time in Chicago. I know we've talked about this before, you've never had pizza, so I got you some Lou Malnati's. The pizza champion for the NXT champion.”

Williams declared the pizza “delicious”, after which Punk expressed his opinion on his role as referee, stating:

“I’ve done everything I think you can do in this building. Refereeing in front of my hometown crowd, any chance to be in front of that crowd is electrifying. I'll take it.

“It is absolutely breathtaking. The place is amazing. They love tricks, they love wrestling.”

The last word would be the new NXT Champion, who thanked him for the opportunity and concluded:

“All joking aside, we're going to the CW, we're taking NXT to a great level and kudos to all the coaches. Big shout out to Shawn Michaels, big shout out to Matt Bloom, big shout out to Terry Taylor for giving me a chance. I'll take care of it Trick Williams Comments After WWE NXT Championship Win with my life.”

Roxanne Perez shared a message with CM Punk after defending the NXT Women's Championship against Giulia thanks to a return from Cora Jade.
