What did the critics say about “Divorce”?

The reviews “Divorce” has received vary widely, but most highlight the story’s light tone as well as tense moments regarding religion and social standards. Check out what some pros said:

Zufox from Yoka News wrote: “Although the film deals with a potentially provocative subject (divorce in a religious society), it prefers to maintain the tone of a family comedy and thus avoids becoming too biting a satire“.

Daniel Hart from Ready Steady Cut said: “With its lighthearted approach, “Divorce” will likely tickle the funny bones of some viewers, but it's important to note that it may also offend those who follow the Christian faith. The film's humor sometimes borders on caricature, particularly in its portrayal of priests and religious figures as comic barriers in a 23-year-long divorce“.

John Serba from Decider also wrote: “Divorce makes a small thing seem like nonsense. It is subtle in its comedy and gentle in its drama. And that's what makes it so endearing, with its unusual approach to heavy topics like divorce and religion, and particularly where religion fits into people's lives“.
