Travis Kelce cashes out the Texas Tech-Cincinnati bet against Patrick Mahomes

The two superstars of the Kansas City Chiefs had a friendly bet about last Saturday's duel between Texas Tech and Cincinnati, the alma maters of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Mahomes threw for more than 11,000 yards in three seasons, leading the Red Raiders (2014-16), while Kelce (2008-12) was First Team All-Big East for Cincinnati in 2012.

Mahomes and Kelce's bet over the weekend included both teams' mascot heads, but in different contexts. If the Bearcats had defeated the Red Raiders, Mahomes would have had to wear the head of the Cincinnati mascot “Bearcat” during his entire weekly press conference period, Kelce said on the “New Heights” podcast.

But when the Red Raiders beat the Bearcats 44-41 on Saturday and escaped because a Nathan Hawks' game-winning field goal attempt missed the right wing, Kelce had to carry the head of “Raider Red” on the podcast he hosted his brother Jason.

“Thanks to the Texas Tech Red Raiders for the synchronization,” Travis Kelce said. “It was the Bearcats' first time playing Tech, me and Pat wanted to have some fun with it. Bearcats, I need you next time, baby.”
