ScoopDuck Roundtable: Score Predictions vs. Michigan State

It's midday on Wednesday, so it's time to lock and load the outcome predictions. As we all know, Oregon will host Michigan State on Friday night in Eugene. And the Ducks go into the competition as the clear favorites.

Here are the ScoopDuck crew's outcome predictions. Who do you agree with or do you have your own?

Collin King: Oregon 37, Michigan State10

Michigan State was dominated by Ohio State last week and I think the only way the Ducks could score more than say 15 or 16 points was if the Ducks were behind by a big margin. I know I've made a few similar earnings forecasts before, but this is exactly how I see this forecast developing. Oregon has far too much firepower for Michigan State to handle and doesn't have the personnel to deal with a real threat in its first year under Jonathan Smith.

Max Torres: Oregon 42, Michigan State 17

Oregon earned a comfortable win over UCLA last week, although we can probably agree that they left some meat on their bones, at least offensively. Still, the defense looked great and should be able to handle a Spartans offense that managed just 246 yards a week ago. They are led by a promising but inexperienced quarterback: Aidan Chiles, who has turned the ball over in all but one game this year. I see the Ducks forcing multiple turnovers like last week. Offensively, the Ducks can't take their foot off the gas, and I think we'll see a cleaner, more complete performance with a dominant home win against the Spartans.

Linden Hile: Oregon 35, Michigan State 14

Ironically, this is almost exactly the same result I predicted against UCLA last week, but this game feels very similar in my opinion. While Oregon gets this home game, Michigan State is a better team than the Bruins, and I expect the Ducks' schedule to be pretty similar to last Saturday's.

I think Oregon will force a turnover or two on Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles and use them to overcome potential offensive problems against a previously good defense.

Jhop: Oregon 45, Michigan State 17

A Friday night game at Autzen Stadium should give Duck fans a big win. Michigan State is not a very good team overall and Aidan Chiles is a turnover machine. I think that's a pretty bad recipe for the Spartans with this Oregon defense. I expect Oregon to get up early in this game and give Lanning a chance to rest his starters for a large portion of the second half.

I know we've felt this way before and it hasn't completely improved yet. But I think we'll see it this Friday in Eugene.
