A woman was arrested after she shot her seriously injured victim on the LBJ Freeway, according to Dallas police

A woman was arrested after she shot a person multiple times on a highway in Mountain Creek, officials said.

Dallas officers responded to a shooting call in the 35800 block of LBJ Freeway around 10:50 p.m.

Police said Latuita Holland, 44, and a victim were driving separately westbound on the highway when Holland shot at the victim's vehicle, hitting the rear window.

According to police, the victim stopped his vehicle and approached Holland, at which point Holland shot the victim.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and Holland was booked into the Dallas County Jail.

Holland is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. As of Wednesday morning, no bail had been set in her case; It was unclear whether she had an attorney.

The investigation is ongoing.

KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reported that Holland and another woman in a sedan were involved in an altercation with a man in an SUV at the exit near Lancaster Road. Police told the television station that investigators were determining whether the shooting was self-defense.
