Inflection is bringing another major mobile game to alternative app stores, this time in collaboration with MY.GAMES to bring War Robots to the Samsung Galaxy Store, ONE Store, Xiaomi and Huawei App Gallery.

Originally a 2014 title, War Robots has survived in the ever-evolving mobile gaming industry for a decade, amassing over 270 million players during that time.

Of course, launching in new stores will mean reaching a wider net to an untapped audience.

Broaden horizons

Alternative app stores are becoming an increasingly important part of the mobile gaming landscape. In the last 12 months alone, companies like King, Scopely, Kabam and Jam City have contributed to this changing tide.

This means mobile classics like Candy Crush Saga and new wave titans like Monopoly Go! have all arrived in more stores and improved accessibility and reach through their Flexion partnerships.

In the fourth quarter of this year, War Robots will be added, with which MY.GAMES aims to expand its position in Asia; The title has already established important markets in the USA, Japan, Germany, Great Britain and Korea.

As one of MY.GAMES' top mobile titles, War Robots has already grossed more than $900 million over the last decade and its audience continues to grow every year.

Higher returns

According to Flexion, games the company releases on alternative stores typically see a 10% increase in incremental revenue compared to Google Play's numbers.

“Google and Apple are seeing their dominance waning and developers are rethinking the best ways to grow users and revenue,” said Jens Lauritzson, CEO of Flexion.

“Our expertise across a range of channels offers developers a huge reduction in upfront costs and human resources compared to what they would need to invest to adapt themselves to the evolving gaming market. It is a great pleasure to welcome MY.GAMES on board. I am sure this will be the start of a very productive partnership.”

Commenting on the deal, War Robots executive producer Boris Burangulov said: “War Robots is one of the top mobile games in our portfolio and this year it celebrates its 10th anniversary since its release. The game grows bigger every year and discovers new target groups; It’s important for us to explore new platforms and resources to reach even more players.

“Flexion impressed us with how easy it is to release in alternative markets, allowing us to focus our resources on developing the game.”

Among alternative app stores, Epic Games has just announced new incentives for Unreal users to publish games on its store starting in January.
