The University of Texas will host the NCAA Men's and Women's Division I Championships in 2027 and 2028

The NCAA announced more than 240 venues for championship competition on Wednesday, including for all three divisions of NCAA swimming.

Sites were selected for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, representing a transition from a four-year to a two-year site selection process.

The Division I NCAA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships have typically been held at different locations since 2021, but in 2027 and 2028 they will both be hosted by the University of Texas at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.

However, the meetings have been held at the same location in certain years, including 2019, the last time Texas hosted.

The NCAA Division II Championships will be held at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis in both 2027 and 2028, while both Division III meets will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

NCAA schools bid to host designated championship meets, with respective athletic committees selecting the venues with final approval from the divisional competition oversight and championship committees.

“The enthusiasm and interest from across the country to host NCAA Championships continues to be a testament to the quality of our events,” he said Lynda TealerNCAA Senior Vice President of Championships.

“For this cycle, we incorporated more data into the process to help our sports and oversight committees evaluate and select sites because we had so many quality venues and locations that we wanted to host over these two seasons. We will continue to evaluate the transition from the traditional four-year cycle to awarding championship bids for two years and collect feedback to determine the right rhythm for the bid process moving forward.”
