App State classes are canceled until after October 15th

BOONE, N.C. – Classes at Appalachian State University are canceled until after Tuesday, Oct. 15, as Western North Carolina continues to recover from Helene.

The university operates under exceptional conditions. Your fall break will be October 14th-15th and classes will not resume until Wednesday the 16th at the earliest. Canceled classes apply to both the App State Boone and Hickory campuses.

Adverse Weather Condition 3 remains in effect until Friday, October 11, 5:00 p.m.

Officials said no residence halls were structurally affected.

On the Boone Campus, residence halls, central dining hall, campus markets, student union, student health services and student recreation center will remain open and operating.

App State Athletics is gradually resuming training and competition. Varsity Gym and the Holmes Convocation Center were damaged by the storm.
