Man United players are “pissed” over defeat to Tottenham, says Ten Hag

PORTO, Portugal (AP) — Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag said his players were “angry” about their humiliating defeat to Tottenham in the Premier League.

A 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday led to some United fans leaving the stadium early and others booing at the final whistle, prompting a review of Ten Hag's position.

United sit 13th in the standings and have lost three times in eight games in all competitions this season.

They play Porto in the Europa League on Thursday and the Dutchman wants to use his players' anger to change their form.

“As always when we don't win, we are very disappointed and also angry, angry at ourselves and especially when you lose a game like on Sunday,” Ten Hag said on Wednesday. “We are crazy and we have to draw motivation from the madness and move on to the next game.”

Mason Mount is unavailable for the game because of a head injury and another blow, Ten Hag said.

He added that he hoped Luke Shaw would return after the upcoming international break.
