The Raiders' Maxx Crosby is receiving the highest praise from his NFL colleagues

The Las Vegas Raiders will part ways with superstar wide receiver Davante Adams sooner rather than later, as the All-Pro receiver requested a transfer from Las Vegas on Tuesday. Although Adams' departure from the Raiders is imminent and disappointing, the team still has an opportunity to build a bright future around edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

Crosby has established himself as one of the NFL's best defensive players in recent seasons, totaling 38 sacks and 287 quarterback pressures since 2021.

The 27-year-old's outstanding play caught the attention of his peers in a recent anonymous NFL player poll conducted by Mike Jones of The Athletic and other members of the NFL team.

In the poll, Crosby received a few votes when players were asked to name the next active player to win his first Most Valuable Player award. The three-time Pro Bowler received the most recognition of any defensive player in this category, garnering 3.9% of the vote in the 102-response poll.

Additionally, Crosby received numerous votes when players were asked to name the first non-quarterback they would choose to start an NFL team.

The 2019 fourth-round pick received 8.7% of responses in the 103-player survey and was the third-highest ranked defensive player on the list behind Myles Garrett (11.2%) and Micah Parsons (10.7%).

The high praise from fellow players for Crosby is a refreshing sight. Las Vegas is viewed by many around the league as a dysfunctional franchise due to its recent lack of success and competency, but Crosby will play a crucial role in the resurrection of the once-storied franchise.
