Public invited to funeral of DPS officer in West Texas

HOCKLEY, Texas (KAUZ) – The Texas Department of Public Safety invites the public to honor the life of Highway Patrolman Kevin Alexis Ramirez Vasquez at the Community of Faith Church in Hockley, Texas.

Ramirez Vasquez was struck and killed by a vehicle while investigating an accident on September 28 in Ector County. The family of Ramirez Vasquez has invited the public to attend the viewing and funeral on Thursday, October 3, although Friday's graveside services will be invite-only.

Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon and the funeral will be at 1 p.m. Ramirez Vasquez also served in the Army and National Guard, and military honors will be presented at the ceremony.
