Kevin Holland angers fighters who complain about pay

SALT LAKE CITY – “Call Big Mouth.”

This is a sentence that Kevin Holland has repeatedly uttered and propagated throughout his career. When the UFC calls, Holland (26-11 MMA, 13-8 UFC) is usually on the other side of the line and agrees with whatever is presented to him.

“I’m an active wanker,” MMA Junkie and other reporters said Wednesday at a UFC 307 press conference at the athlete host hotel. “In the end, it’s as if I had already done some electrical work beforehand. My grandma and grandpa owned a janitorial business. So I understood how to work 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and how to clock in hours and get the work done to get paid.”

Holland has competed eleven times in the last three years, making him the most active fighter on the promotion's roster during that time. With fighter pay a hot topic, Holland pushed back against complaints.

“Half of these people are running around saying, 'We don't get paid enough.' We don't get paid enough. “We don't get paid enough.” “You don't fight enough,” Holland said. “At the end of the day, you want to get paid for shit you don’t do. Shit, that sounds like a bum to me. Remember, I wasn’t a bum like the rest of these guys.”

Holland will face Roman Dolidze (13-3 MMA, 7-3) at UFC 307 on Saturday at Delta Center. UFC) in a middleweight fight as the first card opener. The main event is the second most active fighter in the last three years, Alex Pereira, who has had ten fights in that time.

“I had real jobs before this, so I understand the activity,” Holland said. “I understand going to work so I can pay my bills, and I have a lot of bills. Respect to Alex. Alex did it, got the belt and stayed active. Lots of missions and they are all successful missions. Me? I’m just active.”
