Tree planting ceremony honoring mass shooting victim at Maplewood Park

ROCHESTER, NY – Family, friends and supporters gathered Wednesday to honor 34-year-old Phylicia Council, one of two women killed in the Maplewood Park mass shooting.

A tree was planted in her memory at the site of a Hillside Children's Center in Rochester where she worked as a direct support worker.

Council and Tyasia Manning were both shot during a community barbecue on July 28. Five other people were injured.

There were no arrests.
