3 Texas players to watch in preseason practice

Kadin Shedrick, Texas basketball

One of Texas' most experienced returning players for the 2024-25 season in the SEC is super senior center Kadin Shedrick. After losing Disu this offseason due to exhausted eligibility, Shedrick will be Texas' next starting reliever in the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Junior guards Chendall Weaver and Shedrick are two of Texas' key returnees from last year's squad in the core part of the rotation.

Shedrick was one of the first Texas players to announce he would return for the 2024-25 season after the Longhorns fell to second-place Tennessee Volunteers in the Round of 32 last spring.

Texas will look to Shedrick to put together a fully healthy season as a veteran starter and anchor them on both ends of the court. Due to a shoulder injury he suffered before the start of last season, Shedrick was only able to play well under 20 minutes per game. Due to his serious shoulder injury, he also missed a few games in the first half of last season.

The good news is that Shedrick is reportedly looking much healthier and more confident heading into the 2024-25 season than he did at the same time last year when he was still recovering from shoulder surgery. If Shedrick can have a fully healthy season, he can be the strong defender and strong scoring presence on offense that the Longhorns need consistently up front.
