Check out the new reward points rules for HDFC Bank Credit Cards from October 1st

HDFC Bank has made changes to its loyalty program for certain credit cards. The changed rules came into force on October 1, 2024. The bank also sent an email to affected customers regarding this update. For example, HDFC Bank has capped the number of reward points on the Smartbuy platform that can be redeemed for Apple products to one product per calendar quarter.

Additionally, starting October 1, the SmartBuy portal will limit the number of reward points that can be redeemed for Tanishq gift cards to 50,000 per calendar quarter. It's also important to note that these changes only affect Infinia and Infinia Metal cards.

“On HDFC Bank's SmartBuy portal, redemption of reward points for Apple products is limited to one product per calendar quarter from October 1, 2024,” HDFC Bank's official website said. The definition of the quarters is as follows: April to June, July to September, October to December and January to March.

Additionally, from October 1, the maximum number of Reward Points that can be redeemed for Tanishq vouchers on HDFC Bank's SmartBuy platform is 50,000 in any calendar quarter. The quarters of the calendar include April to June, July to September, October to December and January to March. This only applies to Infinia and Infinia Metal cards.

Below are the adjustments made to your HDFC Bank Credit Card from October 1st:

– There is a cap of 2,000 reward points per calendar month for rewards from utility transactions.

– Rewards from telecommunications and cable transactions are capped at 2,000 reward points per calendar month.

– Note that the cap continues to apply to the following credit cards as per product feature: Bharat, Millennia, Best Price Save Smart, Paytm, Paytm Business, UPI, BIZ UPI, Swiggy, BIZ First and Paytm.

– Rewards points will not be credited for education payments through third-party apps such as CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik and others. However, Rewards Points are earned for payments for education made directly through college or school POS systems or websites.
