Cleveland man guilty in death of woman who was pushed down stairs

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 40-year-old man who killed a woman by pushing her down a staircase in a home during a verbal argument pleaded guilty in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

Steve Gue Jr. pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of 26-year-old Dajah Thaxton.

Cleveland Police Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz said officers traveled to the couple's home in the 8100 block of Medina Road. on April 20th.

Cleveland EMS transported Thaxton to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Police arrested Steve Gue Jr. at the scene.

Gue will be sentenced Oct. 8 by Judge Jeffrey Saffold.
