CLASS NOTES

The Waltham High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee announced the induction into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame. The honorees are Greg Platt (class of 1982, track and field), Frank Frenna (class of 1982, football), Patrick Pelissier (class of 1997, basketball), Cassie Pelissier (class of 2002, basketball), Gino Distefano (class of 1984, soccer), Jaymie Rautenberg (Class of 2002, softball), Boys Basketball Team (Class of 1967, state semifinalist).

The induction ceremony will be held at the American Legion on Friday, October 25, beginning at 5 p.m. (cocktail hour), followed by dinner at 6 p.m.

HOCKEY

Caroline Andrade, Rachel Egan and Adriana Williams each scored two goals and Caroline Fleming added a seventh goal as Watertown (11-0) defeated Wayland 7-0 in a nonleague game. … Lainey Burns, Paige Maguire and Avery Nickerson scored for Norwell in a 3-0 win over Weymouth. … Kerri Finneran had a goal and an assist to lead three different scorers for Central Catholic (10-0-1) in a 3-0 win over Newburyport. … Kate Schneider scored the lone goal and Aideen Smith posted a seven-save shutout to help Walpole (11-0) earn a decisive 1-0 win over Uxbridge. … Mackenzie Clarke had an assist in addition to her hat trick to lead Belmont past Westford Academy 5-0. … Sophia Demeo's hat trick and two goals from Stella Day helped Bedford to a 7-0 victory over Wilmington.

Anya Cranston and Gabby Couillard scored hat tricks and Erin Costello also scored for Tewksbury in a 7-1 Merrimack Valley Conference win over Lowell. … Chloe Pickett and Emily Barbosa each scored two goals, and Alexa Buonagario scored a fifth goal for Methuen (5-5) in a 5-0 win over Haverhill. … Brooke Santo scored two goals and Avery Smith had three assists as Dartmouth defeated New Bedford 4-1 in the Southeast Conference.

Avery Quebec assisted on both goals for Abby Burke as Hopkinton edged Tri-Valley League star Medfield 2-1.

GOLF

John Battaglino and James Berger were honored as co-medalists as they secured the team title for Wellesley with a 2-over-par 74 at the Bay State Conference championship meet. Alec Williams of Natick and Raleigh Shoemaker of Newton North shot a 75, while Leo Weil of Brookline, Ethan Gaudet of Natick and Alex Scales of Walpole shot 77.

Kyle Hoffman and Finn Manning each shot two-over-par (29) as Carver (9-2) defeated Middleboro 130-94 in the South Shore League. … Cam Commesso shot six-over par (41) as Norwell (9-1) defeated East Bridgewater 111-85.

Colin Haynes scored a 36 and Brady Wajda a 38 as Hopedale beat Uxbridge 159-199 in non-league competition. … Tripp Hollister and four others scored a 37 as St. John's Prep (10-1) defeated Winchester 41.5-30.5.

Gavin Shipos and Matt Yuen each scored a 42 as Medway earned a 263-273 Tri-Valley League win over Bellingham.

Jack Waterbury shot a 37 while Drew Golden shot a 38 as Hingham defeated Silver Lake 241-271 in the Patriot League.

Ryan Manning shot two-over par (38) and won both games as Tyngsboro (4-10) defeated Bromfield 27.5-26.5 and Clinton 28-26 in the Midland Wachusett League.

Jack Balutis scored a 40 as Bridgewater-Raynham (7-6) defeated Dartmouth 105-103 in the Southeast Conference.

Brian Hicks earned his 200th career win as Nauset (13-0) defeated Sandwich 230-259 in the Cape and Islands League.

Harry Garland shot a three-under-par 32 with an eagle and two birdies while Alex Bernard shot a 35 as Central Catholic (12-1) defeated Haverhill 13-7 in the Merrimack Valley Conference.

BOYS FOOTBALL

Sandro Neyra added a goal with two assists to go, while Nick Harris scored his first varsity goal as Hingham advanced with a 5-0 win over Patriot League rival Plymouth South. … Kasper Borkiewicz scored two goals as Hanover (4-5-2) held on for a 2-1 win over Marshfield.

Mauricio Marin (two goals) and Eider Solis (goal) led the offense while Cian LeVasseur kept the clean slate as St. Mary's (Lynn) (5-2-1) beat Arlington Catholic 3-0 in Catholic Central League play defeated.

Mason Deneault and Nicolas Scanlon each scored two goals as Somerset pulled away from Berkley (7-5) and won the South Coast Conference 5-0 over West Bridgewater.

Bennett Plosker scored twice for Covenant Christian in NEPSAC's 2-0 win over Newman.
