Predicted lineups, team news and score prediction

Liverpool currently sit at the top of the Premier League, having won five games and only made a mistake once, losing to Nottingham Forest.

The Reds played in the Champions League this week where they beat Bologna 2-0. Liverpool's final game before the international break is away against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Mohamed Salah got on the scoresheet for Liverpool against Bologna on Wednesday evening. The Egyptian has now scored six goals in nine games across all competitions this season.

Salah's contract with the club expires at the end of this season and there have been rumors for some time that he could move to the Saudi Pro League.

He has won everything there is to win at Liverpool and would be difficult to replace in their squad. Christian Pulisic or Karim Adeyemi have been linked with the Reds, but it remains to be seen who Salah's successor will be.

Oliver Glasner impressed last season when he replaced Roy Hodgson in the Crystal Palace dugout. The Austrian led Palace to 10th place. However, this campaign got off to a terrible start.

The Eagles are 18th in the division. With three draws and three defeats, they have yet to win a game. Although they lost Michael Olise in the summer, Glasner has been bolstered by the signings of players such as Eddie Nketiah, Maxence Lacroix and Ismaila Sarr.

Palace suffered a 2-1 defeat against Everton in their last game and Glasner needs his team to respond.

Crystal Palace's expected line-up: Henderson, Lacroix, Guehi, Lerma, Munoz, Wharton, Kamada, Mitchell, Sarr, Mateta, Eze

Liverpool will likely field a team that has not changed compared to the team that beat Bologna.

Expected Liverpool line-up: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Nunez

Palace and Liverpool have met many times over the years – with the Reds emerging victorious on most occasions. However, the Eagles won their last game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Eberechi Eze.

Given the current state of both teams, it's difficult to expect anything other than a comfortable 2-0 win for Liverpool on this occasion.

Palace face Liverpool on Saturday, October 5 at 7:30 a.m. ET. The game will be televised on USA Network and Universo and available to stream on Fubo.tv (free seven-day trial).
