High Point Police respond to school shooting, juvenile in custody

On Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m., a suspicious call was received at Andrews High School claiming that there was going to be a shooting.

High Point police said the school resource officer quickly initiated security measures and requested assistance from officers and detectives.

The investigation led emergency services to a 15-year-old juvenile suspect who was arrested without incident.

According to police, the teen faces charges of threatening mass violence regarding educational property.

A secure custody order was issued and the suspect was transported to the Guilford County Juvenile Detention Center.
