Texas State University will expand its online degree programs again next spring

SAN ANTONIO – Texas State University announced this week an expansion of its online undergraduate and graduate programs in collaboration with Risepoint, an education technology company that helps universities launch and expand their online programs.

The university will offer 18 “job-relevant” programs to prospective students beginning in spring 2025, according to a university press release.

“This partnership allows Texas State to expand access to non-traditional students by giving them the opportunity to earn a degree online while balancing other life commitments,” said Thilla Sivakumaran, Ph.D., vice president from Texas State Global. “We look forward to welcoming more students who want to further their education with these important programs.”

A survey released Thursday by Ipsos and Risepoint found that graduates of Risepoint-supported programs “distinguished in salary gains, career advancement and low debt levels.”

The survey was conducted from April 23 to May 13 among more than 2,600 Risepoint graduates.

Graduate programs range from business administration to education. According to the press release, bachelor's degree programs in communication sciences and nursing will also be offered. Texas State offers a total of 38 online programs.

At the start of the fall semester, Texas State announced 19 online programs that would also be offered to students through its Risepoint partnership.

“We are honored to partner with them and look forward to seeing the impact of these workplace-relevant programs in their communities,” Risepoint CEO Fernando Bleichmar said in a June statement from the university.
