MonView Apartments, LLC is charged with public nuisance

The fatal shooting in Mon View Heights came just one day after Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala filed a complaint against the property because it was a public nuisance.

Zappala said West Mifflin police have made and served dozens of arrests and warrants at the complex in the last six months.

Two teenagers have been charged in a shooting in July They are accused of exchanging shots with each other.

Zappala said MonView Apartments, LLC purchased the complex in early 2023 and failed to make necessary improvements to the property.

“No one, let alone their family, should have to live in these conditions,” Zappala said. “The raw sewage spilling outside a bus stop, dilapidated facilities for children and broken railings is simply unacceptable and our citizens deserve better.”

Zappala said he and the borough mayor plan to tour the property sometime this week. It is unclear when this visit will take place.
