JAMMU, Oct 1: The stage is set for the much-awaited 3rd edition of Legends League Cricket (LLC) at the iconic Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, starting from October 3. After overcoming initial permitting issues, the stadium is ready to welcome cricket legends and fans alike. Extensive preparations are currently underway to ensure the smooth conduct of this prestigious international event, which will feature former international cricket stars and is expected to attract large crowds from across the region.
Legends League Cricket officials confirmed on condition of anonymity that all formalities with the local administration have been successfully completed. Final preparations are underway to ensure the ground is ready for the opening game, scheduled to take place on Thursday evening at 7pm. The match will feature two star-studded teams, Manipal Tigers and Toyam Hyderabad, and promises to be an exciting spectacle to kick off a series of high-profile matches that will see experienced cricketers return to the field.
The site, including the pitch, is carefully prepared by a dedicated team of curators and staff. Around 75 people work around the clock to keep the stadium in top condition before the tournament. While sources indicate that there is still significant work to be completed, efforts are being made to ensure everything is ready for the opening game. According to those in charge, the playing field is finished and the curators are making special efforts to keep it in top condition.
As for ticket sales, the counters at the Maulana Azad Stadium will open to the public from 12:00 noon tomorrow, allowing fans to purchase physical tickets for the upcoming matches. This represents a convenient option for local cricket enthusiasts, although online ticket sales have been running since September 22, allowing early access for fans looking to secure their seats for the highly anticipated matches.
In addition to preparations, players will arrive in Jammu as per the tournament schedule. Two teams arrived in the city yesterday and two more teams are expected tomorrow, further increasing the anticipation for the 3rd edition of Legends League Cricket.
The return of T20 matches at international level is also having a positive impact on local businesses.
