College football Week 6 picks, odds and top 25 betting report

The big Week 5 showdown between Georgia and Alabama came down to a wild fourth quarter and finish for the Crimson Tide. Alabama built a 21-0 lead in the first quarter but lost it within the final three minutes. A 75-yard touchdown strike from new Heisman Trophy favorite Jalen Milroe to Ryan Williams seconds later put 'Bama back on top and they were able to hold onto their 41-34 victory. This win also moved Alabama to No. 1 in this week's AP Top 25 poll, followed by Texas, Ohio State, Tennessee and Georgia, as fans closely monitor the viewing and betting action as the upcoming college games unfold. Football playoffs with 12 teams decide.

But beyond the dominance of the SEC and Big Ten, which took 12 of the top 13 spots in this week's Top 25 poll, UNLV broke into the AP Top 25 for the first time in program history. That's quite a turnaround in two years for a Las Vegas program that has been among the worst in college football for decades and remains in the Mountain West while five other schools, including No. 21 Boise State, leaving the MWC to the new Pac 12 in 2026.

College football's week six schedule beginning in October includes only one Top 25 matchup.
