Giriraj Swami was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a progressive neurological disease that affects his cognitive functions, including decision-making, emotional regulation and social behavior. This diagnosis significantly affects his ability to control his actions and emotions, resulting in behaviors that are inconsistent with his character and values.

Although the diagnosis was only recently confirmed, Giriraj Swami has been affected by the disease for some time and there have been noticeable changes in his behavior. One of the challenges of this debilitating disorder is that those affected are often unaware of their reduced functioning and altered behavior.

A team of medical specialists and dedicated caregivers led by senior Vaishnavas provide Giriraj Swami with the support and care he needs.
