1 dead in West Mifflin shooting

A person was fatally shot at a West Mifflin residence Tuesday evening, according to Allegheny County police.

Police said 911 was first alerted shortly after 10 p.m. when shots were fired near Building 40 in the Mon View Heights apartment complex. Emergency responders found a man with multiple gunshot wounds on Midway Drive.

The Allegheny County Coroner has identified the victim as Nathaniel Walker, 54, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His home community was not disclosed.

No arrests were announced.

The district's criminal investigation department has launched an investigation.
