Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé's duet becomes a Top 40 hit again

TikTok has been transforming emerging talent and relative unknowns in the music world into superstars for years – if only for a moment. Record labels regularly look to the social media app for the next hot song or act, but that's not the platform's only role in releasing successful songs.

Occasionally, users on TikTok turn a years-old track — usually one that has been largely forgotten — into a hit. TikTokers often appear younger, and there have been many cases where they discovered a cut together and used it in thousands upon thousands of videos, giving the title renewed prominence.

That's exactly what happened this week to two of the biggest names in the music industry. Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé debut their only duet on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 this week, well over a decade after its initial release.

The two superstars launch their collaboration “Until the End of Time” in the TikTok Billboard Top 50, which lists the most used and most listened to tracks on TikTok in each frame. The single starts at number 39 on the list and once again narrowly becomes a top 40 hit.

Timberlake and Queen Bey's song is among 15 debuts on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 this week. Only three songs start worse, but the two Grammy winners manage to beat the likes of Playboi Carti, Travis Scott and NLE Choppa.

“Until the End of Time” marks Timberlake’s second hit on the TikTok-only charts. Beyoncé secures her sixth career spot on the rankings and this repeat victory marks her first collaboration on the rankings.

The two musicians released “Until the End of Time” in 2007 as the final single from Timberlake’s blockbuster album FutureSex/LoveSounds. The track was originally a solo production, but when it was selected for promotion, Bey stepped in and made it a must-listen event.

“Until the End of Time” peaked at No. 17 on the Hot 100, giving both stars another Top 20 win. It was also a smash on various radio formats, including dance, R&B and pop. Although it was a big occasion when it was released, the song isn't still a favorite for many Timberlake or Beyoncé fans – but now it seems to have found a new fan base.
