Top 10 African Countries With Lowest Temporary US Visa Denial Rates

While many applicants face hurdles when applying for a temporary U.S. visa, certain countries experience particularly low denial rates.

In a previous article, Business Insider Africa explained that obtaining a visa, whether for tourism, business, study or work, can be a challenging process that often depends on a variety of factors, from economic conditions to diplomatic relations .

According to Statisense data sourced from the US State Department, Mali has the highest US visa rejection rate at 60.16%. Gambia follows closely behind with a rejection rate of 60.40%, and Guinea is in third place with 61.37%.

However, for citizens of certain countries, this process tends to be much easier, with higher approval rates and fewer complications.

Countries with the lowest temporary US visa rejection rates share key characteristics that contribute to their success: stable economies, positive diplomatic relations with the US, and strict visa compliance.

Citizens from these countries are believed to be less likely to overstay their visas or violate U.S. immigration laws, making them low-risk candidates in the eyes of American consular officials.

According to US State Department data, Seychelles has the lowest US visa rejection rate at 4.55%. Close behind is Mauritius with a rejection rate of 6.90%, while Eswatini comes third with 7.84%.
