Paige VanZant Power Slap return announced for UFC 308 fight week

Paige VanZant's slapping days are apparently just beginning.

The former UFC fighter and martial arts star has signed up for a second Power Slap appearance when she takes on Chelsea Dodson at Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 24, the same weekend as UFC 308 takes place in the city. Power Slap officially announced the match on Wednesday following an initial report from TMZ.

VanZant made her slapfight debut against Christine Wolmarans last June. She walked away with a unanimous decision victory after scoring two knockdowns in the contest.

It was a much-needed win for “12 Gauge,” who was winless in four straight fights since her last UFC appearance in 2020. VanZant was submitted by Amanda Ribas at UFC 251 and then lost two high-profile wins. Profile bare knuckle boxing matches against Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich. Last May, she fought to a draw against influencer Elle Brooke in a traditional boxing match.

Chelsea Dodson is the wife of martial arts veteran John Dodson, the two-time UFC flyweight title challenger who currently competes in MMA and bare-knuckle boxing. Chelsea makes her first Power Slap appearance.

Power Slap 9 takes place on October 24th and will be broadcast live on Rumble. UFC 308 takes place two days later at the Etihad Arena, also in Abu Dhabi.
