The Galaxy Watch 4, 5 and 6 get Wear OS 5 watch faces

Samsung's Wear OS 5 update is not yet available on any Galaxy Watch other than the Watch 7. Instead, Watch models 4 through 6 will receive a small portion of this update in the form of the new watch faces introduced on the latest Galaxy Watch.

Samsung has struggled to develop its latest Android versions on both mobile phones and its smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch 7 launched with Wear OS 5 – One UI 6 Watch – when it was released in July. Months later, this software version has not yet found its way into other watches in the series, but is expected to be available soon.

However, Samsung has started rolling out a small portion of this update to users in the form of new watch faces of Samsung's Wear OS 5 variant (via Sammy fans). The upgrade comes in the form of an update to the Galaxy Wearable companion app. A new “Featured Watchfaces” banner can be opened via the app with the option to download the new facades.

The dials included are the new “Spatial Number”, “Simple Digital” and “Ultra Info Board” dials. All three can be seen on the Galaxy Watch 7 series, including the Galaxy Watch Ultra. These are nice watch faces, but they may do little to temper users' expectations of the One UI Watch 6.

The Galaxy Watch 4, 5 and 6 are getting these new Wear OS 5 watch faces. Samsung is reportedly aiming to release the One UI Watch 6 for these devices in October or November.
