The chase ends with an officer-involved shootout in Laurens County

FOUNTAIN INN, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Laurens County Sheriff's Office said the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was requested following an early morning officer-involved shooting Wednesday.

According to the sheriff's office, a chase involving a suspect occurred around 1:30 a.m. that began on Reedy Creek Road in Fountain Inn. About 15 minutes later shots were fired.

Deputies said this incident was an officer-involved shooting and SLED was asked to investigate, which is protocol.
