Texas is opening some driver's license offices on Saturdays in October. Here's where in DFW

Texans who need to renew or replace their driver's license or identification card this month can make appointments on Saturdays, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced Wednesday.

Participating offices across the state will be open for half a day every Saturday through the end of October to serve additional customers. Some offices may also accept weekend appointments for new ID cards, but this depends on the location.

Online voter registration will become an integral part of driver's license updates

Appointments are required for Saturday services and can be booked online at txdpsscheduler.com.

The DPS office in Region 1, which includes Dallas-Fort Worth, has six offices scheduled to be open Oct. 12 and Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to an online listing. These offices include Carrollton, Dallas South, Denton, Fort Worth, Garland and Lake Worth.

Last month, the agency also offered Saturday appointments and said the appointments filled up quickly but had a no-show rate of about 30%. Therefore, DPS asked customers who could no longer keep their appointments to cancel them so that someone else could take them.
