Cozen O'Connor Chico State Report Update – The Orion

The Chico State Report by Cozen O'Connor from 2023 suggested many recommendations to the university Discrimination, harassment and retaliation programs and Title IXwhich works to prevent sexual discrimination in educational programs.

Erika Romothe Chico State Title IX coordinator, said the Cozen O'Connor report is not done annually.

Chico State has created an iImplementation plan and a team of subcommittees in response to the Cozen O'Connor system-wide assessment.

All CSU implementation plans are reviewed and sent back to the universities. Final plans will be released publicly along with status updates on December 1st and June 1st, as stated on the website CSU website.

As stated on the website's status update, in January 2025, the CSU Campus Security Authority has several upcoming deadlines including:

  • Guidance on other behavior of concern
  • Non-discrimination policy update
  • System-wide prevention policy update

The anti-discrimination policy will be revised on April 19 when federal regulations are issued. A draft policy will be sent to stakeholders on June 28 for feedback. And on August 1st, the CSU's completely revised anti-discrimination policy will come into force.

There will be no new Cozen O'Connor Chico State Report for 2024.
