KE launches discount program for citizens

KARACHI: K-Electric on Tuesday launched the “KE Star Rewards” initiative to provide multiple discounts to customers who pay bills on time, ARY News reported.

The aim of the initiative is to reduce the economic burden on customers through an easy-to-use redeemable rewards program.

“Given the current economic climate, citizens are looking for more ways to save on their expenses and manage their utilities. In such times, any relief or stimulus can provide much-needed relief and help bridge the gap between customers and energy suppliers,” K-Electric said in a statement.

According to the utility company, the KE Star Rewards program will reward Star customers with various discounts if they pay their bills on time and in full each month.

“The program is designed keeping in mind the various needs and essentials of today’s customer. From lifestyle to healthcare to food and entertainment, the program covers comprehensive aspects of customers’ daily lives and offers something for everyone,” it said.

K-Electric spokesperson Ovais Munshi said the utility was the first in the power sector to launch a loyalty program to engage with customers.

“Our initiative is embedded in the philosophy of empowering our customers and promoting a culture of regular and timely bill payment. The offers available will encourage them to stay on top of bill payments and gain value through access to discounted healthcare services, fitness and even travel,” he added.

Munshi decided to find new ways to engage K-Electric customers and deepen her relationship with them.
