Man in custody after police pursuit of stolen pickup in northwest Miami-Dade ended in crash and rescue – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

NORTHWEST OF MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – Police have taken a man into custody after police conducted a chase in northwest Miami-Dade that ended in two crashes and a rescue.

Miami-Dade police units began pursuing a stolen white Ford F-150 truck after an officer activated her license plate.

When the person realized he was being followed, there was a collision with a police vehicle and then another collision with a civilian vehicle.

Investigators said the suspect jumped off near Northwest 32nd Avenue and 73rd Street and ran down the street, where officers arrested him.

The driver of the civilian vehicle suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics. He was transported to the hospital.
