Seattle police responded to 911 calls to a home in the 4400 block of SW Hudson Street, south of the West Seattle intersection, and to reports of a shooting just after 1 p.m.

According to Detective Brian Pritchard, public information officer on scene, a 57-year-old woman was shot and sustained multiple injuries. When emergency services arrived, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

He said three people were involved and that the investigation was now in the hands of homicide detectives.

One neighbor said she heard “two really loud gunshots” at the time, and another said the home's resident had previously displayed a large flag in front of the house.

Reporters at the scene asked if it was an ongoing eviction, but police did not confirm this.
