Sandusky police are searching for a hit-and-run suspect

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WTVG) – The Sandusky Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a suspect in a hit-and-run that injured a child on Wednesday.

According to a Facebook post from the department, the accident occurred on Madison Street near Pearl Street around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the vehicle struck a child who was crossing the street and then fled the area.

Witnesses said a woman was driving the vehicle.
