Lady Mustangs sweep G-Town

Playing on their home court Monday night, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs earned a solid non-conference win by defeating Georgetown in three straight sets.

LCHS won 25-18, 25-13 and 25-16.

Addy Carraher finished the match with 19 assists, five kills, four aces, one dig and one block.

Halle Greene had six kills and three digs. Also for Lynchburg-Clay, Matalyn Magee finished with five kills, one ace, two digs and six blocks.

Ava McLaughlin collected 10 assists, two digs and a kill.

Kylie O'Connor had nine kills, two blocks and one ace. Joslyn Rockey also had 14 digs, four kills and two aces for the Lady Mustangs.

LCHS's Avery Shope had 11 aces, seven digs and one kill.

Ava Doughman totaled three digs and one kill. Morgan Baker took a dig at LCHS in the win. Melany Stephenson totaled five digs, one kill and one ace.

LCHS improves to 12-5 overall and is currently 8-3 in the FAC.

Fairfield wins 5-set match against host Williamsburg

The Fairfield Lady Lions played a complete game with five tough sets and were the last team standing as they won the non-conference contest against Williamsburg 3-2.

Fairfield won sets one, four and five 25-11, 25-16 and 15-06, respectively. Williamsburg won sets two and three, 25-23 and 26-24.

FHS totaled 61 kills, with Jobey Hattan having 24, followed by Remi Moon with 13 and McKinley Cox with a total of 10. Also with kills were Mackenzie Anderson with six, Kelsey Clark with six, Jaeden Drury with one and Paisley Stahlhut with one.

Fairfield also had a total of 11 aces, including five from Clark, two from Alyssa Bales and one each from Moon, Hattan, Anderson and Cox.

The Lady Lions also had seven blocks as a team, with Moon leading with three and Drury and Cox with two each.

There were 93 digs for Fairfield, with Hattan, Anderson and Bales leading the way with 23 digs each. Moon totaled 11 digs, Clark totaled eight, Cox totaled three and Stahlhut totaled two.

FHS also had 59 assists, including 47 from Clark for the team lead, while Moon had three, Anderson three, Hattan totaled two and Stahlhut, Drury, Cox and Bales had one assist each.

The win moved Fairfield to 10-4 overall and they are 8-1 in the SHAC.

Lady 'Cats lose to CNE in 3 sets

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost a non-conference volleyball game on Monday night, falling in three sets to the host Clermont Northeastern Lady Rockets at CNE High School.

WHS lost 25-18, 25-15 and 25-18.

Lady Indians were overwhelmed by Miami Trace

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers continued to show their dominance in the Frontier Athletic Conference this season as they defeated the Hillsboro Lady Indians in three straight sets at HHS on Tuesday.

HHS lost its FAC game 25-12, 25-05 and 25-22.

For the Lady Indians, they had 20 kills, including Camryn Spruell with five, Samantha Tipton with five total, Tylee Davis with four and Ryan Waggoner with three. Kayla Seeling had two kills and Addison Huff had one kill.

HHS also had six aces in the loss, two each from Seeling and Davis, while Tipton and Allie Roush collected one each.

The only block for Hillsboro was Spruell. Leading Hillsboro in digs was Kayla Seeling with 15, followed by Wagoner with one, Roush with one and Huff with one.

The loss drops Hillsboro to 6-3 in the FAC and 11-5 overall.

Lynchburg-Clay has a 3-set win over West Union

Heading into West Union High School on Tuesday, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs won in three straight sets against the host Lady Dragons to secure the Southern Hills Athletic Conference title.

Lynchburg-Clay defeated WUHS 25-18, 25-17 and 25-23.

LCHS collected 35 kills as a team and added 85 digs, 32 assists, 14 aces and a block for the final team total.

The team was led in kills by Kylie O'Connor with 12, followed by Halle Greene with 11. The team was led in aces by Avery Shope with six and Ava McLaughlin with four.

LC's only block came from Mattie Magee, and the digs leader was Joslyn Rockey with 34. Leading the Lady Mustangs in assists was Addy Carraher with 20.

Magee (six), Carraher (four), Rockey (one) and Shope (one) also collected kills for LCHS.

Other aces included O'Connor (two), Carraher (one) and Rockey (one).

The remaining LCHS candidates included Ava Doughman (nine), McLaughlin (six), Melany Stephenson (six), Carraher (six), Halle Greene (six), Magee (two), Jules Vesey (two) and O'Connor ( one).

Assists for LCHS went to Doughman (one) and Rockey (one).

The Lady Mustangs are now 13-5 overall and 9-3 in the SHAC.

Whiteoak drops SHAC match against Peebles

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game on the road to the Peebles Lady Indians in four sets on Tuesday.

WHS won set three with a score of 25-22, but lost set one (25-20), set two (25-12) and set four (25-22).

Whiteoak is now 1-9 in the SHAC and 1-17 overall.
