Many familiar former faces of the Texas Rangers remain in the postseason

The Texas Rangers aren't in the postseason, but many former Rangers are.

Some are household names, some are not, and they are spread across eight of the 12 playoff teams. Here's a look at the 13 former Rangers still active in the postseason.

LHP Cole Ragans: The Rangers traded the former 2016 first-round pick to the Royals on June 30, 2023 for reliever Aroldis Chapman.

RHP Michael Lorenzen: The Rangers traded Lorenzen, who was signed as a free agent in March, to the Royals for left-hander Walt Pennington.

2B Andy Ibanez: The Tigers claimed Ibanez released from the Rangers on November 10, 2022.

C Jose Trevino: The Corpus Christi native was a sixth-round pick in 2014 and played parts of four seasons for the Rangers before being traded to the Yankees on April 2, 2022 for RHP Albert Abreu and LHP Robert Ahlstrom.

RHP Emmanuel Clase: After being called up for the final two months of the 2019 season, Texas traded Clase and OF Delino DeShields to Cleveland on December 15, 2019 for RHP Corey Kluber and cash.

C Austin Hedges: The Rangers acquired Hedges from the Pirates for “future reasons,” which meant signing International for bonus cap space for catching depth at the 2023 trade deadline and Hedges becoming a fan favorite during the club's World Series run. He signed with the Guardians in the offseason.

FROM Jurickson Profar: Once considered the No. 1 prospect in baseball, the former infielder played parts of five seasons with Texas before being traded to Oakland before the 2019 season. (See end of story for full trade.)

RHP Reed Garrett: He was selected by Texas in the 16th round in 2014 but never made it to the majors. He was claimed off waivers by the Tigers in December 2018 and returned to the Rangers organization in May 2019. He was released by Nashville Sound in January 2020. He was ultimately claimed by the Mets on waivers in June 2023.

LHP Kolby Allard: The Rangers traded RHP Chris Martin to Atlanta for Allard on July 30, 2019, then traded him back to Atlanta for RHP Jake Odorizzi and cash on November 9, 2022. Allard signed with the Phillies as a free agent in January.

RHP Luke Jackson: The No. 45 overall pick out of Texas in 2010 played for the club from 2015-16 before being traded to Atlanta for LHP Brady Feigl and RHP Tyrell Jenkins.
