UNC basketball fans will love hearing this update on Caleb Wilson's recruiting

It was announced on Wednesday that five-star Class of 2025 star Caleb Wilson has canceled his official visit to Alabama. This visit was planned for next weekend and is unlikely to be rescheduled.

While this is an interesting tidbit in itself, it became even more fascinating a few hours later.

Wilson doesn't plan on just sitting around this weekend. Instead, he made other plans and announced on social media that he would be attending Chapel Hill.

This is the second visit to North Carolina for Wilson, who took his official visit the weekend of February 3rd. During his official visit, the 6-foot-2 forward was present at the UNC basketball program's victory over rival Duke. Since student-athletes can only take one official visit to each campus, this visit will be an unofficial visit for one of the top ten players in the class of 2025.

This is very interesting news, especially considering we haven't heard much about his recruitment and don't know where the Tar Heels stand. It now appears that the UNC basketball program may be in a good position in his recruitment as they will now have another opportunity to show him that Chapel Hill is the right place for him.

With Derek Dixon already committed to the UNC basketball program, adding an elite talent like Wilson would be an important addition to next year's roster. While it's far from confirmed that Wilson is headed to Chapel Hill, it's a great sign that he's not only canceling a trip to another school, but also using his newfound free time to make another trip to North Carolina plan.
