The wife of a Utah security guard who reported her husband missing has been sent to prison for murder.

Officials with the Cottonwood Heights Police Department said Johnson's wife, 41-year-old Jennifer Gledhill, reported him missing on Friday, Sept. 20, when he didn't come home.

His employer also told the police that the 51-year-old did not report to work the following Monday.

The couple had been considering a divorce since July, police said. They shared three young children – all under the age of 11.

Police said witnesses reported seeing the two arguing around the time he was reported missing.

Investigators believe Johnson died from a gunshot wound.

Officials said the death was reported to police on Saturday, September 28. The reported information and the “significant physical and digital evidence” subsequently collected led to Gledhill’s arrest.

She was taken into custody and booked into the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center.

Officials said Johnson is a member of the United States Military Special Forces.
