Swinney will provide an update on Woods' status on Wednesday

Following practice on Wednesday, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney provided an update on Peter Woods' injury status in his final media release of the week prior to Saturday's game at Florida State.

Clemson was without Woods in its final two games. The star sophomore defenseman was injured in the first half of the Sept. 7 win over App State.

“He trained every day and got better day by day, so his status is still day by day,” Swinney said Wednesday. “Making great progress.”

On Tuesday, Swinney said this would be a big week for Woods in terms of his availability for Saturday's game, and Swinney noted that Woods was “close” to being able to play in last Saturday's game against Stanford.

Before the injury, Woods had six tackles (2.5 for loss) and one sack this season.

Saturday's game between No. 15 Clemson (3-1, 2-0 ACC) and FSU (1-4, 1-3 ACC) at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
