The 2024 vice presidential candidates, the Republicans, were on live television for more than 90 minutes Senator JD Vance of Ohio and Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, discussed a wide range of topics in the first and only VP debate of the campaign, hosted by CBS News. If you missed Tuesday night's debate, you can watch a recording of the full broadcast in the video player above.

The two candidates faced questions Moderators Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan discussed the economy, immigration, abortion rights, the conflict in the Middle East, climate change, health care, housing costs and more – and sometimes offered completely different visions for the country's future.

Immediately after the debate CBS News surveyed voters across the country who reported seeing it to get their reaction. They were almost evenly divided on who they thought won – 42% said Vance and 41% said Walz, while 17% said it was a draw. A large majority, 88%, said the overall tone of the debate was positive.
